The Income Tax Department in Chennai has published a notice on the Sports Quota recruitment process for 38 Inspector, Tax Assistant, and MTS positions. Those with exceptional athletic ability who have represented their country, state, or nation in All India Inter University competitions (run by the Association of Indian Universities), National School Games, National Physical Efficiency, or drive are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria of Income Tax Department Recruitment

Qualifications for Education:

* Inspector of Income Tax: Must hold a bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited university.
* Tax Assistant: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent, from an accredited university.
* Multi-Tasking Staff: Minimum of a pass in Matriculation or its equivalent.

Sports Eligibility: The proficiency will be evaluated on the basis of their participation in recognized tournaments / events in the calendar years 2020, 2019, 2018 & 2017. The competitions and events will be ranked in the following, decreasing order of significance.

i) International competitions and events, such as the World Championship and Olympics.
ii) international competitions and noteworthy regional occasions, such as the Asian, Commonwealth, or Afro-Asian Games.
iii) Other worldwide competitions / events similar to the SAF Games.
iv) Domestic Tournaments / Events of National level seniors like National Games, National Federation Games etc.
v) Domestic Tournaments / Events of National level of juniors.
vi ) Inter-University Tournaments.
vii) National School Games.
viii) National physical efficiency/drive certificate holders.

# The best of three performances in the calendar years 2020, 2019,2018 and 2017 w ill be considered for evaluation. These forms need to be correctly completed on the application.

Age Limit: 18 years as a minimum and 25 years as a maximum as of April 1, 2020. According to DoP & T O.M., the upper age limit is loosened to a maximum of 5 years for OBC candidates, 10 years for SC/ST candidates, and 5 years for athletes with notable accomplishments.
